The American Single Reed Summit is a national event for saxophonists and clarinetists that was founded in 2017 and had its first event in 2018. We encourage cross-collaboration between saxophonists and clarinetists in order to create meaningful musical experiences for current and future generations. Our summits are intended to aid musicians both artistically and professionally through performances, masterclasses, clinics, lectures, and discussion panels.
PerformancesPerformances must be under 22 minutes in length and can be for any mixed group. You can also register for our masterclasses with our internationally acclaimed faculty! Students of all ages are encouraged to apply!

International Clarinet Competition 2022The American Single Reed Summit, in collaboration with the University of South Carolina, presents the 1st American Single Reed Summit International Clarinet Competition. The summit will take place from October 13-16, 2022 with the dates of the competition taking place on October 14-15, 2022 at the University of South Carolina.

Absolutely! Graduate students in chamber groups that feature either or both the saxophone and clarinet are encouraged to apply though preference is given to ensembles that feature both instruments. Yes, this year will feature clarinet competitions. Information can be found here. Yes, groups of all ages are encouraged to apply to perform. We are looking to create a highly beneficial experience for musicians of all ages and experience. In addition to performances by major artists from around the United States, there will be discussion panels, masterclasses, workshops, and clinics with this age group in mind.
