CLARINETRadovan Cavallin (Spain/Croatia)Radovan Cavallin was born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1969. At age 13, Cavallin entered the Academy of Music at the University of Zagreb and graduated at the Paris Conservatory of Music with the highest honors. Since 1989, Radovan has been Principal Clarinet of Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra and Professor of Clarinet at the Academy of OFGC. Dominique Vidal (France)Dominique Vidal studied at the Paris Conservatory, where he graduated with the highest honors in clarinet and chamber music. He has distinguished himself in various international competitions where he won prestigious prizes: Concours International de Paris, Grand Prix Claude Debussy (Guild Soloists and Chamber Artists), Concours Acanthes in Paris, Concours International de Toulon, Concours International Valentino Bucchi in Rome, Belgrade International Competition. His career as a soloist and chamber musician led him to participate in numerous concerts, international festivals and master classes around the world and he played regularly on various radio and television stations. Sarah Watts (UK)Sarah teaches bass clarinet at the Royal Northern College of Music and clarinet at Nottingham University. She is Associate in Music Performance and Director of MA Performance at Sheffield University. Sarah has completed a PhD in bass clarinet multiphonic analysis at Keele University and has published ‘Spectral Immersions; A Comprehensive Guide to the Theory and Practice of Bass Clarinet Multiphonics’ via Metropolis publishers. SAXOPHONEJames Bunte (USA)Dr. James Bunte earned degrees from the CU Boulder (BM, BME), and CCM (MM, DMA). As a saxophonist, Bunte has given recitals and masterclasses throughout the United States, and most recently France and Japan. Dr. Bunte is the saxophonist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and has recorded eight CDs with the Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Pops. Claude Delangle (France)Soloist, researcher, and pedagogue Claude Delangle stands out as master of French saxophone. Privileged interpreter for classic works, he enriches the repertoire and encourages creation by collaborating with the most renowned composers, including L. Berio, P. Boulez, Toru Takemitsu, A. Piazzolla, among others. Since 1986, he has been invited as saxophonist in Ensemble Intercontemporain, also working with prestigious orchestras and conductors. Preston Duncan (USA)An internationally acclaimed performer and educator. Preston Duncan has appeared as a soloist throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe. A Duncan currently teaches saxophone at the University of Minnesota. During the summer he teaches on the faculty at Ticino Musica International in Lugano Switzerland and Shell Lake Arts Center. Josh Quinlan (Costa Rica)Josh Quinlan is a saxophonist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Quinlan is the Visting Professor of Saxophone at the National University of Costa Rica. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Colorado and is a graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (BM) and DePaul University (MMA). Quinlan is an endorsing artist of P. Mauriat saxophones, Bari Woodwind saxophone mouthpieces and Gonzalez Reeds.
Quinlan has released four albums as a leader, saxophonist and composer (Mountain Time Standards, Open Space, Hear, Here and In From Somewhere) and his most recent features acclaimed trumpeter Terell Stafford. He has toured throughout the world with performances and teaching in Asia, South America, Central America, Europe, United States and Australia. Recent highlights include concerts as guest soloist with the National Symphonic Orchestra of Panama and the Symphonic Orchestra of Costa Rica performing “Charlie Parker with Strings,” and tours with Greg Osby and Terell Stafford.
